I wish all Indians a very happy
Republic day.
Let us celebrate the Republic Day with
pride, gratitude and happiness. I wish to thank the Indian army for the
surgical strikes against the terrorist groups. Through such strikes, the Army
has delivered a clear message to all terrorist outfits that whoever thinks or
attempts to endanger the peace and harmony of our nation will be hit hard and strong.
I am very much impressed with the change in attitude of the
general public in addressing social issues. Be it the mass agitation started by
Anna Hazare against corruption or demanding stronger punishment for culprits of
heinous crimes against women or the recent Jallikattu protests to safeguard the
tradition: People believe the fact that when few individuals share a common
dream, all that it takes to realize it, is to raise their voice and let that
voice be heard loud and clear. The spark triggered by few individuals is being
endorsed by one and all and turning out to be massive protests which even the
mighty powerful political or judicial establishment can resist obliging to the
demands of the common public. Currently, the public is being selective in
responding to social causes. But the enthusiasm, vigor and sense of
responsibility building up in the public will soon buy wings and quickly spread
in solving each and every problem in our society.
People have actually started owning their problems. The sense of
responsibility is making them drive towards addressing their issues. People are
no more waiting for a leader or praying god for help. But instead, aggregating
the power and resources from bits and pieces to address their own challenges.
This republic day, I wish
to celebrate the growing strength and enthusiasm in Indiaism. Salute!
