Happy 75th Republic Day
I
wish you all a very happy 75th Republic Day. As we renew our commitment to the
principles laid down in the Constitution, let’s thank the legislative for
enacting the laws, the executive for implementing the laws and the judiciary
for interpreting the laws to cater justice to all citizens.
Very
happy to witness the Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha ceremony at Ayodhya. A temple
that was destroyed in 1528, finally rebuilt in 2024. The history and the
journey of Ram mandir defines the character of our country. Its not about
religion, its not about God but its about the people's perseverance to realize
their dream. A dream of building a shrine to their deity.
Never
ever believe that the demolition of the Babri masjid by the egregious karsevaks
resulted in rebuilding the temple. Never in the history of mankind, has a
religious conflict resolved through the judiciary. A judiciary that has no
religion or color but is based on facts. The facts could be William Finch's
dairies, British revenue records, excavations by ASI but most of all, the Hindu
occupation at Janmasthan is what convinced the supreme court to deliver its
verdict in favor of Ram Mandir. Even
without the shrine, people never gave up the site, it was always a Janmasthan.
Powerful kings might have destroyed the Janmasthan, British administrators might have created religious conflicts, hungry stomachs might have disillusioned our faith but the HOPE never died. Suffering, pain, death...against all adversities over 500 years, the commitment to rebuild the temple to their deity never diminished. Is this called resilience: Is this the right synonym to describe an Indian? Happy Republic day.
