I wish you all a very happy Republic Day. As we celebrate the Republic Day with pride, gratitude and happiness, let’s thank the Indian army, air force and navy for safeguarding our country.
On this special day, lets understand the power of
saying ‘NO’. Saying ‘no’ is not about attracting confrontation or insulting
other people. It is by no means, limiting our potential at work or in life. Saying ‘no’ is a simple process of rejecting
things that don’t matter and creating room to say ‘YES’ to things that matter
most.
We are constantly surrounded by friends,
relatives and society which brings in many obligations and activities. Over
time, these get bigger and bigger and eat up most of our space and time. Usually,
they don’t align with our values, vision, desires, dreams etc. A simple ‘NO’
can prevent loads of garbage to enter our premises. By doing so, we will not
only safeguard our values and stay focus on our vision, but also protects our
time, energy and resources. When we stop filling our days with unnecessary commitments
and distractions, we begin to acknowledge the things that bring joy and
fulfillment and have the space to let them flourish.
Reflect on your daily routine. How many
activities do you engage in out of habit or obligation rather than genuine
desire or thoughtfulness? How many hours are wasted each day on devices or
purposeless entertainment? Every weed we pull and every hour we take back,
opens up the possibility of saying ‘yes’ to something more meaningful and
life-giving. Give it a thought.
Happy republic day!
